The Ontario Association of Home Inspectors (OAHI) respects the privacy of its members and the users of our website (available at and other services.

Collection & Use of Personal Information

Membership Applications:  To request details about a membership, we may collect your name, contact information (such as your address, phone number and e-mail address), language preference and payment information.  We use this information to process your request.  When you apply for a membership, we will also collect your education and insurance information.  We use this information to assess and review your credentials for membership, maintain our relationship with you as a member and process the payment of your membership dues.

We may also use your contact information to keep you informed about opportunities to volunteer, educational sessions, special and third-party events, and other activities or developments.  If you do not wish to receive periodic communications from us, you may contact us as set out below or by following the unsubscribe instructions in any of our communications.

Events:  To register for activities, such as group meetings, courses or continuing education events, we may collect your name and contact information (such as your address, phone number and e-mail address).  We use this information to administer your participation in the event or activity.  We may also use your contact information to send you information in connection with these activities.  If you do not wish to receive these communications, you may contact us as set out below or by following the unsubscribe instructions in any of our emails.

Complaints:  To register complaints with OAHI, we collect your name, contact information (such as your address, phone number and e-mail), as well as the details of your complaint.  We use this information to investigate the complaint and discipline members, if necessary.

Contact Us:  If you contact us with a comment or question, you may be asked for information that identifies you (such as your name and e-mail address) along with additional information we need to help us promptly answer your question or respond to your comment. We may also retain this information to assist you in the future and to improve our services.

Disclosure of Personal Information

OAHI will not disclose, sell, rent or lease your personal information to third parties except in accordance with this privacy policy.

Service Provider Arrangements:  We may transfer (or otherwise make available) your personal information to third parties who provide services on our behalf. For example, we may use service providers to authorize and process payments or host our Website.  Your personal information may be maintained and processed by our affiliates and other third party service providers in the US or other jurisdictions.  Our service providers are given the information they need to perform their designated functions, and we do not authorize them to use or disclose personal information for other purposes.
